Mentor Program
Now Recruiting Staff & Faculty Mentors!
If you are Faculty or Staff at Appalachian State University, consider becoming a Professional Mentor for our ASCEND Supplemental Orientation Program! As a Professional Mentor, you will meet with a small group of students on a monthly basis to discuss issues and challenges they have been facing. The ASCEND Leadership Team in ISA has prepared a facilitator guide, and will meet with you to help you lead effective, meaningful discussions. The students served by ASCEND are from marginalized and historically underrepresented backgrounds, including:
- Students of Color
- Students with Disabilities/Diverse Abilities
- LGBTQIA+ Students
- First Generation Students
- Students from Low Income Backgrounds
